Inspired by the design firm rEDCLOUDY located in Seoul, South Korea.
This calculator app titled “cALC” is inspired by a communication design firm located in Seoul, South Korea called “rEDCLOUDY”. They design many different kinds of artwork and most of their designs are being created for stationary use and everyday writing.
Branding & Design The “cALC” app’s branding is solely inspired by rEDCLOUDY. Though not limited to it’s particular colors and shapes, the design explores the use of subtle gradients from blue to white, and red to salmon. With a slight trace of skeuomorphism, it is perfect for both the young and old.
Usability This app is useful because of its extensive features for mathematics and even standard purposes which are not always offered in other caclulator apps. With the clean and easy-to-us interface, this app will work well for anyone.
Attribution This project is inspired by a communication design firm located in Seoul, South Korea. This project uses their logo-mark for the designs and their user interface for this calculator. Their artwork is revolutionary and creative, which is why they were chosen for this project.
With the extensive use of numbers and algorithms, users can enter numbers and solve equations much quicker than other calculator apps.

Apart from other calculator apps in existence today, the "cALC" app brings an artistic flair to the scene. With the button numbers being in the center of the screen and the calculation buttons on the bottom and top of the screen, this allows users move their fingers easily.
Our role in this project involved app UI design, icon design, app development with Carona SDK, and user testing on devices for the iPhone. This project was completed on May 5'th, 2012 and was updated on June 12’th, 2016.
